About
More and more massive and frequent use of Nanotechnology in the industrial production, as well as in the treatment for yet incurable diseases, will bring countless benefits and better results compared to the use of traditional-techniques. New applications on large scale, based on the so called NEST (new and emergent sciences and technologies), particularly Nanotechnology, will create many advantages.
ECSIN, European Center for the Sustainable Impact of Nanotechnology, arises from the need to combine the NEST development with a proper knowledge of the impact of industrial processes and products upon the human being and the environment, according to an eco-sustainable development.
The center aims at carrying out researches and studies to evaluate the effects due to the exposition to nanoparticles and/or nanomaterials on the human and environmental health.
Moreover, the Center analyzes the impact of nanotechnology on society, through the benchmark analysis, in order to improve the comprehension and the social acceptability of nanotechnology.
In order to deepen the knowledge frame of the human and environmental health, ECSIN aims at becoming an international point of reference for the evaluation and management of applied Nanotechnology processes.
